With Him

So He put out His hand

And took her

And brought her into the ark.

My mind is so drawn into that picture of God’s loving care that I personally feel warmed by this thought. As I have written “so he put out his hand”, says to me that God, the Lord, is the greater one, reaching to the lesser one. He has made Himself as the ark of safety, and then He reaches out to offer His hand and arm to be a soft landing place for the “dove” he had released.

Surely, Noah’s dove had floated out upon the wind, looking to find the slightest tree or post to land. But her quest was in vain. There was nothing but water, water, and more water. There was nothing anywhere except water. So she looked for a breeze to help her lift her wings as they were tired, beating into the wind with which the Lord had sent to dry up the Earth. But, at last, she saw the window of the ark, and she beat her wings incessantly in order to reach it before she lost her last breath. Breathlessly, she saw Noah’s arm, reaching out to her, just as we reach out to God when we are tired and weary from struggling to find our rest, so just as Noah let her light upon his arm and bring her into the safety of the ark, so does our face light up when we see our God, reaching out his faithful arm and hand to receive us into his place of safety, his perfect Ark.

He reaches out for ME! Every day of my life He extends His arm of power to draw me in, into His abode, into His love. He wraps Himself around me and holds me tight! His love will never let me go! No matter where “my day” takes me, I am in Him!

Every day is glorious. Even the hard things of life, for He is my protection, and I stand and watch how He moves my mountains and molehills away.

He reminds me He has me wrapped in His armor, and each piece is strategically placed. As long as I stay pressed into Him, depending on His strong, loving arms, I am secure in Him. I must always trust His decisions, His path through the woods, hills, and valleys; even in crossing streams and rivers that threaten my safety in my life. He constantly guides me. I must yield to His guidance and not fret over what I see or perceive as a threat to me. I must remember His word to me that says He will work all things for the good for me and for all those who love Him and to whom He has called according to His plan and purpose. I am your “called” one. I belong to You, my true Savior. Oh, thank You for making me your own!

God, the Father, reaches out to us by “His Faithful Arm,” Jesus, the One who saves by His power!

“Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.”

(John 15:9)
